After graduating from Baylor University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree (emphasis on the cello), I taught for four years at R. L. Turner High School as the Assistant Director of Orchestras. At the end of the 2002 school year, I transferred here to Creekview High School. My first five years here have been great and very successful, and I'm looking forward to another wonderful year. My hobbies include reading and watching movies. I would love to go see movies at the theater, but find I never have enough time (or money) to do it as often as I'd like. I collect out-of-print young adult books that were written from 1930 - 1950. They are my pride and joy of my book collection. My sister (Joya), brother-in-law (Mike), and niece (Maike) moved back in with me temporarily. Mike is still with D R Horton Home Builders and is required to travel 70% of the time. Joya is teaching here in CFB this year at Sheffield Intermediate. She's teaching 3rd grade Science. Maike is in second grade at Sheffield Primary! She keeps ALL of us busy with her strong will and active nature. But she's the most talented seven-year old I know!! Right now she is consumed with Egypt and anything Egyptian! She is constantly dancing, singing, and making up plays--definitely an artistic child, and the child of my heart. We have a new addition to the family--my nephew Noah. He just turned five months old and is a doll! He is brilliant already. My other housemate is my very sweet dog LaSalle who is around 9 years old. I had a wonderful but busy summer this year! I taught at the Baylor Summer Music Camp in early June. Shortly after that, I spent five weeks in Colorado with my parents and Maike. We camped in Gunnison and made several side trips, one to Pagosa Springs. I love Colorado, and would live there in a heartbeat, but Texas is the best in Music Education in the whole country. One of the highlights of the summer was attending the Texas Orchestra Director's Association and finding our that our Symphony Orchestra was named Runner-Up in the TMEA Honor Full Orchestra Competition. What a wonderful experience for us all! Mr. Neugent and I were thrilled with the performances of our students, and their hard work paid off. What an honor! I'm excited about another year of fun and fellowship. Mrs. Fox and I have a ton of fun! Make sure you attend all our socials! You never know just what stunts she and I might pull. |
